Out of the 3 years and 10 months that Scott and I have been together, we have been in the same city for pretty much the entire time. Aside from school breaks or family holidays in which we didn't coordinate to spend it together, this summer will mark one of the few times we'll be "long-distance".
So now that he is finished with classes and has some time to play with me, we are trying to spend every second we can doing anything. Last night wasn't the exception. ;o) Scott is what I would call "very-go-with-the-flow" and when it came time to decide what movie to watch, guess which one he agreed to sit through?
BABIES! I have been wanting to see it for a while, and although it wasn't what I expected, it was still a very cute documentary that shows the huge differences in culture and lifestyle seen through the eyes of a little one. Scott and I were relieved/happy we were the only ones in the theater cause we didn't have to hold back our reactions and comments. Overall, very cute! Now, my new "can't-wait-until-it-comes-out": Waiting for Superman. Watch trailer here.

F is for Fancy Dinner w/ Mr. Fiance
Scott finished his first year of Law School!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so incredibly proud of him! So to celebrate, I decided to surprise him and use our "F" date to treat him to a "fancy" meal at one of my favorite Houston restaurants: Taste of Texas.
He had never been, and continuing our tradition of not being able to keep surprises from each other, he figured it out before he picked me up. We enjoyed a delectable porterhouse steak. Description from the menu: Thirty-two oz. of the king of steaks, split tableside for sharing. Accompanied by two salads and a side order for each person (we chose baked potatoes).

(quality of the photos is not the best because I didn't use a flash, sorry)
It was a wonderful evening, and it felt great to get to hang out with Scott without having to worry about Torts, Con. Law, Contracts... Now what will preoccupy our minds??? Wedding planning!

What mondays make me wish for
Mondays are just hard in general, aren't they? Yesterday was even worse! Houston's traffic is directly related to the weather: More heat = more people driving around like maniacs! My daily drive from the office to home is usually a 20-25 minutes drive with 5 o'clock traffic. Yesterday it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to get home!!!!!!!! I want to live in the country side, enjoy Noah Bear's company while I read a good book, have a home-cooked meal with Scott after he plays golf, and enjoy the noise-free, traffic-free, pollution-free atmosphere.

To release my road-rage anger, I baked an apple pie last night (at 10:30pm!) and dreamed about my little house in the country side. In retrospect, I could never live in a small secluded area. I enjoy the city too much, and would probably go crazy without a HomeGoods, or Target, or a mall within a certain range. It was all just a Monday evening dream...
